In memory of Annie Mae Carter 1939-2017

(digitally reimaged)

To say that details help ground a work is an understatement.

Juxtaposed abstract and figurative techniques are used to pull out feelings, memories and purpose within my paintings.

I have been blessed to help people celebrate loved ones with original art gifted for a joyous occasion such as a wedding or in celebration of a loved ones legacy.

Every intricacy is a tribute to the client's focus. Creating one of a kind modes of nonverbal communication through visual arts helps heal in part and encourage.

Resilient

Painting: Enamel, Acrylic on Canvas.
12 x 9 x 0.6 in
(30.48 x 22.86 x 1.52 cm)

Circa 2019

Original painting, "Resilient" was created with intent to illuminate challenging spaces. Variegated blue, plum and pale peach hues integrate alongside a strikingly vivid deep gold. The gold shines in high contrast to the black acrylic background as if to communicate a persuasive statement of resilience. Even amongst the darkest of days the light can burn through.
